Rapidly gaining more and more popularity, this website celebrates its half-year anniversary. The platform already has more than 10.000.000 users. Biometricks started being the new Facebook, where people offer their identities to others, instead of sharing just a surface of their personalities.
People can use other identities temporarily to experience what it really means to see the world through other eyes. Individuals exchange their filter bubbles, promote their great recommendations, share their knowledge, provide access to specific data and offer anonymity.
The so-called “Identity Toolkit” became an integral part of the users’ lives. The tools are applicable to log into all services secured by biometric data. Big companies started supporting and sponsoring the platform, as they recognized it as a place for promoting themselves. There are rumors going around that Google is working on “Identity laboratories”, which should create fake identities, that appear as real ones.
The tools are also used in the physical world and people invent new ways of applying them. It can be as simple as adapting different voices in karaoke bars, but also as risky as crossing borders with a foreign identity.
Biometricks founder Samuel Bradford says they have to work increasingly on their security measures and terms of conditions, to avoid the growing number of hackers.
